Meet the Teacher

Jen Cote, M.Ed., (“Miss Jen”)

“Miss Jen” knows how it feels to be a struggling reader. She required pull-out help from a remedial reading teacher during first grade. She can still vividly recall the moment she understood the connection between letters and sounds!

Jen is a certified teacher in the state of Connecticut and has taught in public, private, and homeschool settings.

She continues to take classes to grow as a learner and teacher. Since 2021, she has completed extensive trainings in Structured Literacy and the Orton-Gillingham approach. She completed the Associate level program through the OGA-accredited Kildonan Teacher Training Institute and additional advanced courses in Structured Literacy through IMSE, Literacy How, and Slant System. She is a certified Slant System Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher.

Jen is a wife and mother of three not-so-little kids. She enjoys cooking, thinking about cleaning, and reading (of course!)
